A Selection of Early Soviet Economic Reforms: The Khrushchev
Main Article Content
Abstract
Recent Soviet/Russian Economic reformers (such as Mikail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin) have received much publicity concerning their economic reforms of the late Soviet/early Russian economic and political system. In general, this has been a shift from a system of "Stalinist Centrism" to a more private, decentralized market economy. Earlier, however, there were attempts to reform (but not change) the socialist, centrist planning system, particularly in the era of Nikita Khrushchev (1953-1964). These reforms occurred in both agriculture and industry; and cncompa88cd the Liberman (Kharkov)1 reforms. The analysis will concentrate upon a selection of major reforms of this era.
