Abstract

This paper examines the factors which may influence faculty support for union representation. The data for this research was collected from a questionnaire sent to all faculty ofa mid-size public university in December of 1992. The questionnaire was designed to obtain demographic information in addition to measures of satisfaction in the areas of university governance, compensation, and overall job satisfaction. In addition, faculty members were asked to state the manner in which they would vote if an election for union representation were held at the time of the survey.
