Abstract

The ability to write well is one of the most important skills undergraduate economics students can acquire. The development of good writing skills requires repeated opportunities to write and revise. This paper argues that undergraduate economics journals can be used to encourage high quality undergraduate research. A new on-line journal, The University Avenue Undergraduate Journal of Econo1nics, is described as an example of an outlet for undergraduate writing in economics. A number of uses of undergraduate articles in the classroom are then explored. (A22)
